Cléo arrived in our home on January 14, 1996. Lary, my spouse, flew to Virginia to pick her up. It was a week-end return flight when most airports on the East coast of the USA were closed because of inclement weather... I was lucky that Lary and Cléo were able to safely reach their destination.

During this trip, Cleo conquered Lary's heart! and all who had the pleasure to admire her! Upon arrival, she readily felt at home and at ease. She quickly developed a strong bond with my female Cali, a Polish Owczarek Nizinny (PON). The two of them at play is a sight that must be seen to appreciated and the way they carry on chasing each other around the house and pulling each others moustaches.

Cléo is very loving, loves to be cuddled and by her woos and wheedling, obtains whatever her little heart's desire. My slippers seem to have become her favourite toy... Having an excellent appetite, and who will get to the "finished bowl" first, compels her to haste and compete against my two PONs. Housetraining wise, I have tried the newspapers and she appears to have clearly understood. To see her dash full speed into the kitchen, and crouch in her special newspaper lined-corner so she can quickly rejoin the pack is quite amusing! The kids find her very adorable and who will get to pick her up first is mainly up to chance or on a first come first serve basis!

Cleo's arrival has been a joyous experience for us, remarkably enough, that Lary, who from the onset, was not very enthusiastic at the idea of welcoming a new puppy in the household, recently talked about acquiring a little friend for Cleo... Stay tuned as another new beginning is about to unfold...
